A meeting was held in the committee room of Agriculture University on the subject projects of National Interest in Agriculture sector for USAID funding on 31^st July 2010. The chair informed that HEC has desired to develop a joint project proposal for funding under USAID Programme. He also informed that major problem faced to Agriculture Sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern Areas and FATA. These are, small land holding, lack of access to improved agricultural technologies, post harvest losses and lack of value addition, lack of improved livestock and poultry breeds, absence of a farmer friendly marketing infrastructure, lack of implementation on agriculture policies of poverty alleviation and food security, climate change and global trade and international standards. Brief on CMP-II was provided to meeting by PPD and the objectives of project highlighted which are the same as given above.
