VISIT OF MR. INYATULLAH KHAN AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONER MINFA TO PROVINCIAL OFFICE OF CMP-II KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA PROVINCE PESHAWAR ON 19TH JUNE 2010. Agriculture Development Commissioner MINFA visited the Office of PPD on 19th June 2010. PPD CMP-II briefed ADC about the activities carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was informed that the activities are streamlined , in all 139 VOs 75 VO,s have received Revolving fund and the Project Manager along with their technical and support staff are busy in disbursing loan to farming communities and loan is provided in kind for agriculture inputs . Beside RF, implement pools, SFBC, IDI,s Animal Health Centers and activities were highlighted. PPD informed that 1. Strawberry was introduced in Charsadda and production technology promoted and VO,s Linked with Markets . 2. Novel vegetables introduced , production technology transferred and farmers linked with market 3. Agriculture inputs provided to Farmers at their door steps and in this way production increased from 20 mds per acre to 25 mds per acre in last two years 4. Introduction of Hybrid vegetables, Such as Cucumber, Gourd , Bitter Gourd , Potato and Tomato and farmers are getting higher yield and production 5. Hybrid Maize introduced in project areas which doubled the yield of crop. In his closing remarks ADC directed all the staff to work hard and make all efforts to run their activities so that small farmers be benefited. He urged that a tangible result be kept in mind while working in field. He also directed DPM, s that he would visit the respective districts and inspect the activities in field and also hold meeting with FVOC to assess the activities for future agriculture Development.
